For our client, one of the global leaders in the production, sales and distribution of building materials, we are searching for a leadership oriented, results-driven, and experienced person.
Major objective:
The Cement Plant Operations Manager oversees all aspects of cement production at our manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality operations. This role requires a deep understanding of cement production processes, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to sustainable and efficient operations. The position is a high potential career development opportunity for succession in a short-term period (up to two years).
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient cement production, optimizing processes in line with Serbian industrial standards and EU regulations.
Achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards and ensuring production consistency.
Manage managerial positions, overseeing both Maintenance and Production managers. Lead, train, and develop plant personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Ensure full compliance with environmental laws and safety protocols. Monitor emissions, noise levels, and waste management in line with Serbian and EU standards.
Collaborate with the Controlling department to manage the operational budget, optimize resource usage and minimize waste, and to prepare effective strategic mid- and long-term planning.
Work closely with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and meet customer demand.
Promote green technologies and sustainable practices, including the use of alternative fuels and innovative production methods.
Required competencies:
A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
A master’s degree or additional certifications in cement technology or operations management is a plus.
5-10 years of experience in cement plant operations, with a proven track record in managing production teams and driving operational efficiency.
Strong understanding of cement production technologies, maintenance strategies, quality control processes, and energy management.
Fluent in English language.
